Original 1937 lithograph – window mounted, unframed.
Image size: 135mm x 150mm
In 1937, the arts journal Signature published three preliminary designs for High Street – a year before the series was finalised. These first three images were colour experiments, printed at The Curwen Press and published in Signature in March 1937 with an introduction by John Piper. Signature was published in an unnumbered edition of 750, and are now very scarce as many would have not survived today.
This is an original lithograph, not to be confused with the modern giclée reproductions in circulation.
Please note the photograph of our own copy of the journal is included here for reference only.
