One of eight colour line-block prints from John Minton's 'Time Was Away' (John Lehmann, 1948), created after his 1947 journey through Corsica with the writer Alan Ross. Printed by Purnell & Sons through the exacting letterpress process Minton made his own, built up colour by colour from separate hand-drawn plates.
This is an original 1948 line-block print, not a reproduction.

ABOUT OUR ORIGINAL PRINTS
Most of the works we offer are original prints, made using traditional printmaking techniques such as linocut, wood engraving, lithography, screenprint and etching. Each process has its own particular character, from the carved marks of relief printing to the drawn or painterly qualities of lithography and screenprint.
