The third in John Broadley's sequence of prints that explore our musical heritage recalls the rave scene of the late 1980s and early 90's.
Partially inspired by music holiday-makers heard in the Balearics on holidays, thousands of people gathered each weekend at secret locations across the UK to dance, wild-eyed, to this new twist on electronic music. While you certainly had to be ‘in the know’ to hook up with any like-minded individuals, the enduring sounds, images and feelings remain with those lucky few to this day, memories of a glimpse of a better world.
Whether you call it the second summer of love or just a good time, the (illegal) rave scene left an indelible mark on both our culture and minds.

ABOUT OUR ORIGINAL PRINTS
Most of the works we offer are original prints, made using traditional printmaking techniques such as linocut, wood engraving, lithography, screenprint and etching. Each process has its own particular character, from the carved marks of relief printing to the drawn or painterly qualities of lithography and screenprint.
You can read more about the different printmaking methods in our guide to print mediums.
