Woodcuts

Discover original limited edition woodcuts, created using one of the oldest and most enduring printmaking methods. Unlike wood engraving, which is cut into the end grain of hardwood, woodcuts are carved into the plank or long grain of the wood using knives and gouges. The raised surface is then inked and printed by hand or press. The resulting prints are often characterised by their expressive lines, rich textures and strong sense of the artist’s hand.
