Taking his inspiration from the buildings of the Landmark Trust, Ed Kluz's work explores contemporary perceptions of the past through the reimagining of historic landscapes and buildings. Ed has been fascinated by the Landmark Trust and the buildings in their care since happening upon a copy of the handbook many years ago.
"The Trust and its important work have preserved a rare family of buildings - among them gatehouses, garden temples, bathhouses, eyecatchers, watchtowers, castles - all are fragments and vestiges of the past. However so many could have been lost forever and passed into memory had it not been for their meticulous restoration and revival. To see windows reglazed and roofs raised from ruin is a thrilling sight."
ABOUT ORIGINAL PRINTS
Most of the works we offer are original prints, made using traditional printmaking techniques such as linocut, wood engraving, lithography, screenprint and etching. Each process has its own particular character, from the carved marks of relief printing to the drawn or painterly qualities of lithography and screenprint.
You can read more about the different printmaking methods in our guide to print mediums.
