Having studied at Edinburgh School of Art, painter-printmaker Michael Kirkman is currently on an MA course at the Royal College of Art.
“My interest or inspiration for making work comes from a need to communicate moments in time that seem strange or extraordinary, yet capture what is is thought by many to be mundane or without worth. I have been selling work both publicly and privately since starting my art education 6 years ago and shall be finishing my MA in June 2010. Some important influences include Eduardo Paolozzi, Mimmo Paladino, Balthus, Edward Burra and Jonathan Gibbs.”
