Peter Clayton
Born in 1959, Peter Clayton studied Fine Art at Preston Polytechnic, Lancaster. Since then he has been exhibiting at galleries throughout the UK with exhibitions at Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal, Tib Lane Gallery, Manchester, Rugby Art Gallery & Museum, Leicester University and Vaughan College, Leicester.
Peter has also completed a number of residencies and commissions – including a series of 30 mixed media paintings for P&O Cruise Liner ‘Arcadia’ and a book cover for Faber & Faber.
Peter is a member of the Leicester Print Workshop where he has been Artist in Residence between November 2010 and May 2011.
His work has been inspired by travels around Norfolk and Cumbria and recently he has been creating ‘portraits’ based on his family history.
